Bio
Vladyslav Ustiuhov is a Ukrainian pianist residing in Miami, Florida. Holding both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in the Keyboard Performance at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. In 2025 Vladyslav has won top prizes at several international competitions including Bizet International Competition and Carles & Sofia International Piano Competition. Earlier achievements include Alfred E. Lee Conservatory Competition in 2017 and 2018, and the VII Ivan Karabitz International Piano Competition in 2012.
As a solo and chamber music performer, Vladyslav presents annual recitals in Miami and Boston, demonstrating his technical mastery and interpretive sensitivity. His performances have taken place at prominent venues such as Newman Recital Hall, Victor E. Clarke Recital Hall, Nancy Green Hall, St. Bede Chapel, St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Miami, as well as Seully Hall, Houston Hall, and Steinert & Sons Piano Gallery in Boston.
In 2022-2025 Vladyslav has collaborated with over fifty musicians, including vocalists, composers, conductors, pianists, string and wind players. This partnership involved recitals, music examinations, forums, studio concerts, accompanying private lessons and group masterclasses. The most notable performances included The Paris Concert of the Frost Flute Studio (2025), Frost Symphonic Wind Ensemble (2024), Frost Chamber Music Showcase (2024), opera “Trial by Jury” with the Frost Opera Theater (2022), directed by Jeffrey Buchman and conducted by Jamie Bunce.
During his years of study in Boston, MA, Vladyslav has participated in various music projects such as Rising-Beyond Walls: Performance in Public Space organized by Emerald Necklace Conservancy and MF Dynamics in Boston Back Bay (2021) and a chamber music series featuring works by Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky (2021), and World Fest at the Boston Conservatory (2016). Furthermore, Vladyslav has performed in several intimate venues in the United States, such as churches, nursing homes, music schools in Jaffrey and Dublin (New Hampshire); Needham, Dedham, Wilmington, and Charlton (Massachusetts); and Doral (Florida).
Prior to moving to the United States, Vladyslav had recitals in various Ukrainian cities, such as Kharkiv, Artemivsk, Donetsk, Horlivka, Mariupol, Melitopol, and Yalta (Crimea) performing in state conservatories, music schools, and philharmonics.
In 2025, Vladyslav released his debut piano single “Pathetique Etude, Op.8 No.12,” followed by his first album “Beethoven: Sonatas Ops. 53, 57, 111.” These recordings are available on major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music.
Beyond performance, Vladyslav contributes to his academic discourse through lectures at the International Scientific Conference “Art and Science in the Modern Globalized Space” (2021-2024), focusing on topics of the American Composers, Free Improvisation, Teaching Music to the Kids with Special Needs. From 2023 to 2025, as part of his Teaching Assistantship at the University of Miami, he taught eleven group classes and five private piano classes, participated in piano examinations, and served on several evaluation committees. Since 2023 he has been a faculty member at the Superior Academy of Music in Miami and the Doral Piano Studio. In 2024 he received the Top Music Teacher Award from the Steinway Piano Gallery in Miami. Since 2024, he has been a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) as well as a member of the New England Piano Teacher Association (NEPTA).
With a deep passion for music and collaboration, Vladyslav Ustiuhov continues to inspire audiences through his performances and teaching practice, establishing himself as a thoughtful and dedicated artist in the classical music community. His studies have been shaped by distinguished teachers, including Professor Max Levinson, Professor Naoko Takao, and Professor Tian Ying.
